U Ko Ko Gyi

U Ko Ko Gyi was born in Mandalay. After graduating from BEHS 9, Mandalay in 1979, Mandalay Regional College in 1982 and Institute of Medicine, Mandalay in 1987, he went abroad for further study before joining the family business in 1996 as the Managing Director of Diamond Star Co., Ltd. Between 1999 and 2005, he served as a Central Executive Committee member of The Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry. He was a founding member of ASEAN Business Advisory Council between 2002 and 2004. He was a member of National Economic and Social Advisory Council (NESAC) which advised the President of Republic of the Union of Myanmar till March 2016. Currently he is the Group Managing Director of Capital Diamond Star Group which is active in Food, Retail, Real Estate, Health Care and Financial Services. Concurrently, he is the chairman of Capital Diamond Star Foundation, president of the Myanmar Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (Upper Myanmar) and the patron of People’s Health Foundation. He is married to Daw Moe Moe and has 3 children.
